Mr. V.P Kunhimoideen Kutty (1948 – 2018) - the Torch-Bearer of an Educational Revolution

A man's life is truly successful when he uplifts the lives of people around him who might otherwise have failed. That is how the epoch-making Mr. VP Kunhimoideen Kutty brought color and flavor to their dreams. He started acquiring small plots of land from many people in the early 1980s at the top of rural Pookkattiri Hill (Angadikkunnu), Edayur Village, Malappuram District. He had a great vision to help the destitute, including orphans, the needy, and other socio-economically backward classes without access to quality education.

After successfully acquiring the required land, he prepared the soil to implant the seed of education in 1997 by gathering around him a group of educationists and Philanthropists under the Orphans Educational Charitable Trust, Edayur. Thanks to his efforts, the Safa Group of Educational Institutions emerged well-equipped to enlighten the region.

The institutions under Safa Group are Safa English School (Affiliated with CBSE), Safa Montessori, Safa Arabic College (Affiliated with the University of Calicut), Safa College of Arts and Science (Affiliated with the University of Calicut).
